I love getting to work with my clients again and this time Lauren was all dressed up in her gorgeous red two piece prom gown, ready to prom at the Adventure Aquarium. We did her portraits in her backyard, which has a lake! The water in the background was beautiful, but all eyes were on Lauren and Mark. When I arrived they were already taking family pictures, it was pretty hot outside so I was glad to see they were hiding in the shade.
Mark and Lauren figured out how they wanted to walk out for promenade. I had to capture the twirling and laughs, as everyone there was helping the two of them decide which would be the best spin.
Lauren’s family was not just celebrating prom, but also Matt’s, Lauren’s younger brother, 8th grade dance.
I hope you all had a wonderful time at your dances.
It’s PROM!! Well it was on Friday night for Tom and Renae, talk about looking a-maz-ing! I know I have said this before about them in last year’s Junior and Senior prom posts, but with it being their last and final prom, it was a different kind of feeling. Yes, I just said last and final prom, Tom and Renae are a year apart in school so this was their fourth high school prom. I thought going to my two proms was overwhelming, but Renae and Tom made all of their glamorous nights look so easy.
Tom looked handsome in his all black suit with a white jacket. He also borrowed a friends car so he could drive Renae around in style. Renae’s ivory lace and blush Jovani dress was gorgeous and showed off her tan beautifully. They danced and twirled under the lovely willows and whispered secrets on the bridge.
For me, I loved playing sports, hiking, and camping, the pictures I took at prom were kind of like my school pictures. In front of a backdrop that looked nice, but told no story as to who I was. That’s when I got the idea prom pictures should be taken at a place that means something to you and your date.
PROM… it’s like a magical word when you’re in high school. It kind of is! The glitz and glamour, the dresses and hair do’s, the tux’s; OF COURSE it’s one of the highlights of Junior and Senior year! And why wouldn’t it be? In my area, prom is like a mini wedding, but that makes for a very memorable night.
If you are an athlete, why not combine the glamour of prom with your passion?! When Renae asked me to do her pictures for her junior prom, I incorporated soccer since her and her date have played pretty much their whole lives. A year later we headed out with a few of Renae’s friends and played off the athlete’s glamorous night.
Shannon and Erin play softball, while Renae is a soccer player; being able to show off their love of sports and love of fashion was so much fun.
As promised, Lauren’s second part of her senior session is here and I am so excited to share! We shot on a beautiful fall day at Washington Township Lake Park, the lake and colorful fall leaves made an amazing colorful backdrop for her faded green sweater.
When you look up prom on Google you will find article after article, picture after picture, and checklist after checklist. These articles and pictures and checklists tell you “everything you need to know about” prom. Today prom is so much more than just a glamour night, the lead up to the dance is a big deal now too. Promposals are asked, girls spend the afternoon getting ready, the guys pull on their jacket and pick up their dates, and meet up with a group of friends for group photos. For Renae and Tom, they go take pictures before they meet up with the group.
These two are so much fun to work with, I’ve posted about them before. Our high schools have junior and senior proms because the classes are pretty big. Renae found a beautiful lake with a water fountain in the middle of it. As beautiful as the lake was, Tom and Renae made the lake look just like a lake, because they looked stunning all dressed up.
While we had a great time shooting, it was nothing compared the amazing time they had at prom.
Prom is a time in every high schooler’s life that brings the excitement and joy to the formal fashion world. The boys all dressed up in their tuxedos and the girls in beautiful floor length gowns, they look red carpet ready; and that is just how Renae and Tommy looked for their first prom of the 2016 season.
We recreated this picture, because last year one of their favorite pictures, was a pose similar to this one.
Tommy looked runway ready with his charcoal grey suit and red tie, while Renae stole the hearts of many in her simply gorgeous fitted red dress.
The weather may have looked gloomy in the morning, but the sun broke through to shine a light on these two celebrating their high school life.
