So this post is a few years in the making, I know, it sounds funny. I have always loved the magical world TV creates and the underwater world of mermaids. I had the pleasure of working with my sister to create that magical world. We wanted to do a shoot at our “local” beach a few years ago, like all summer. I had a full time job and did shoots on the weekends, so it made it hard for us to find time. We had scouted rocky beach locations while we were visiting family at the shore, but could not find a place that we liked. Summer was ending and it seemed like we were not going to be able to do our dreamy mermaid shoot.

Our story didn’t end there though, to celebrate my parents 25th anniversary we did a family vacation to Hawaii. My parents had gone there on their honeymoon, and wanted to take my sisters and I for our “last” five person family vacation. We had an amazing time, our family vacations are always fun. Of course the whole trip Renae and I talked about doing our mermaid session, and what better place to do one than in Hawaii! On our last day, just hours before we needed to pack up and be at the airport, Renae and I were able to capture a little mermaid magic.

It may have been a summer long dream to do this session, but it was completely worth it. While it was our summer long dream, it just took me a little extra time to create these beautiful mermaid portraits. Maybe we will see Renae swimming along the New Jersey shores this summer.

Happy shooting.

Meeting a couple on the day of their wedding can make you a little nervous. Pulling up to where they groomsmen are getting ready and a few of them standing on the front step with swords, a little confusing. Yes, I said swords.  Vasken and his groomsmen are into cosplay. Once I was ready to start shooting, the guys were ready to their picture. Posing and making faces the whole time.

After a handful of groomsmen photos, they were ready to head over to the church and what better way to take a fun group, than a school bus!

St. Francis DeSales Church in Philadelphia was the perfect ceremony spot for Julianna and Vasken’s traditional wedding.

It’s time for a little bit of fun and the bridal party photos at a beautiful hotel in King of Prussia.

Blackwood, NJ Doggie Cake Smash | Zoey

My crazy, loveable black lab was born on May 1st eight years ago. While she can drive me up a wall, I love taking her for walks and playing at the park. I could not celebrate her birthday without a doggie cake smash session. While Zoey loves food, she was not too sure of her cake at first. In the end she loved it just as much as her brother Timmy.

Washington Township Lake Park Family Portraits

It’s a beautiful spring day and the sun is shining bright, but not as bright as the Ortiz family. They got out of the car in full smiles and already laughing. We started our short hike to the Washington Lake Park, or as I like to call it the secret lake; not many people realize it is hidden behind the first lake. We started our session off on the dock, before moving over to the trails. Everyone was having fun, although I’m pretty sure their favorite part was once we headed back out towards the athletic fields. Alexis and Joshua have played sports for years, so portraits on the fields made them feel right at home. I think everyone’s favorite photo before they even saw it, was when I told them to “tackle” mom; don’t worry they were nice.
